Psalms 105:1-3 “Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples. Sing to Him; sing praises to Him; speak of all His wonders. Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.” |
This entire chapter in the Psalms is a history lesson of the blessings of God on behalf of Israel from Abraham to Joseph to Moses. David lists many ways that God kept His covenant with Israel miraculously. He is singing praises and telling how good His God is! That word interpreted as “praise” is used 90 times in the Old Testament. It comes from a Hebrew word “to-dah” pronounced “tah-dah!” I absolutely LOVE that!
When I want to praise God, I can begin to name and list all the things He has done for me in my life – and tah-dah!! Look at the wonders of my God! He knitted me together in my mothers womb and knew me before I was born! Psalms 139. -He guided me in my early years to become a nurse because He had a plan for my life! Jeremiah 29:11. – He orchestrated a divine appointment so I could meet and marry the man He made for me! Genesis 2:24 -He blessed me with two beautiful daughters! Psalms 127:3-5 – He saved me and redeemed me! Luke 1:68 -He walks with me daily and guides my steps! Psalms 37:23. See, you can easily make a list for yourselves, and have reasons to praise God all day!
Make a choice to rejoice daily and thank God for all He has done, and continues to do in our lives.
