The Best Time to Pray – James 5:13

The Best Time to Pray
James 5:13 – “Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.”

Recently while in a rush, I almost sent a text message to the wrong person.  Fortunately, just before sending it, I corrected the error and the intended recipient received the information she was expecting.  I was relieved to know the communication mishap was preempted.  If not, there would have been one person puzzled about the misdirected message and the other waiting for a response.

With text messages, there is always a chance of sending them to the wrong person.  However, as believers, we have one form of communication where that never happens.  When choosing to pray, we can rest assured knowing we are connecting with the one true living God.  He is never confused about the reason we are reaching out to Him, nor is He baffled about what to do in response to our petitions.

He who never slumbers or sleeps is never too busy to hear our prayers. This means the best time to pray is always right now.  That is true whether we need His intervention or guidance, or if we simply want to praise Him for loving us and being our Savior.

Dear Heavenly Father, we are grateful You are always available to hear our prayers.  Help us to remember the best time to pray is always right now.  In the Strong Name of Jesus, Amen.
