John 10:4 – “When He has brought out all His own, He goes ahead of them, and His sheep follow Him because they know His voice.”
Throughout each day we hear a wide variety of voices. The sources include family, friends, work colleagues, or individuals from within the community. Other voices we may hear come from the screens we view from phones, computers, or television. At times it can be difficult to determine which voices we need to listen to. This is especially true if seeking direction, desiring resolution to a problem, or needing assurance when facing difficulties.
However, there is one voice we can listen to and follow with confidence. We need have no doubts regarding the voice of the LORD. Instead of confusion and uncertainty, His voice is one of clarity and comfort. As we spend time in His presence, we can grow in learning how to recognize His voice.
At times we can recognize His voice while sitting quietly reading and meditating on scriptures. Other times while praying, we can sense His soft sweet voice easing our worried minds and soothing our troubled hearts. We may recognize His voice in a wise reply from a fellow believer who is a trusted confidant. Although there is an assortment of ways He communicates, we can rest assured knowing that when He is speaking to us it is with a voice of clarity.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for desiring to communicate with us. Help us grow in our ability to hear Your voice. In the Sweet Name of Jesus, Amen.
