Jesus warns us in this world we will have trouble (John 16:33). And, it may come in the form of challenges within our community, work setting, relationships or personal lives. When trouble comes we may even day-dream of putting on a pair of good running shoes and trekking across multiple miles to distance ourselves from the trying circumstances.
However, footwear more effective than any pair of running shoes are those of the gospel of peace. The designer of such shoes is the One who can immediately help us travel from a point of despair to a place where we can bask in unlimited love, power, and protection. It is in that secure place that our heart over-flows with the peace surpassing all understanding.
