When it seems like everyone around us is doing what they want to do without any regard to God’s word, we can easily get discouraged. When we get weary of doing good, Satan will try to tempt us to give up and turn away from pursuing what is right. It may even seem as though others are getting blessed while we are still waiting for our unanswered prayer.
Today’s scripture reminds us to turn away from actions that lead us to evil. When we seek God, he is the only one who knows the right direction to peaceful living. Despite what we see with our physical eyes, God promised in His word that if we pursue Him, we will have peace that the world does not have, and the world cannot give.
It is a trap of the enemy to spiritually blind us and make it seem like the other way is the easier road. However, God’s Word shows us that the wrong path will only lead to sin and temporary pleasures with permanent destruction. We must stay on the course of pursuing the peace of God by continuing to do what is right.
Obeying God’s word is the only avenue that will give us everlasting joy and peace. When the world tries to steer us in its direction with tempting riches and false promises, do not give up. Let us keep pressing towards the voice of God, keep doing what is right, and choose peace.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for another day of your grace and mercy. Thank you for giving us hope in knowing that following your path is the best way. Help us to stay strong and stay focused on you. In Jesus name, amen.
