John 5:6-8 – “When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” |
As I was reading these three verses, the first thing that caught my eye was Jesus saw this man in need and already knew he had been in this condition a long time. This tells me that even before we go to Jesus for help, he already knows our dilemma and is ready to help us. For me, I can get in my own way by over thinking on how I will get out of a situation. There are times when I panic and immediately call this person or that person, only to find they are not available or cannot really help me. I can only see the limitations, just as this man could only see his limitations and no one was around to help him. Jesus sees past our limitations and gives us the help we need 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. He is never too busy and always right on time. All we need to do is believe and act on His Word. He is here to walk with us and pick us up. Family and friends love us, but they do have limitations. Jesus is our number one source and healer. Let us take the next step and trust Him. Be encouraged.
Prayer: Father God, we thank you for your grace and mercy. We thank you for seeing us and providing a way out even when we can’t see it. Lord, grant us wisdom to reach out to you and believe that you are all we need to pull us through any situation. In Jesus Name, Amen
