Humanity puts its hope and trust in many things in this world which don’t deliver fully, if at all: in relationships; in physical and material comfort; in government; in our work; in medicine; in wealth and myriad other things. When these do satisfy, it is temporary at best. Even life’s successes are reigned in by human failings—a continued reminder of our shortcomings and weaknesses that this world cannot erase.
But the love of God our creator is eternal, purposed for mankind before the beginning of time, and it is therefore worthy of our trust and our hope. And because of his enduring love, there is available in Him redemption that allows us to rise above our mistakes, our failings and our weakness.
