1 Thessalonians 5:17 – “pray continually”

Today’s verse is one of the shortest in the Bible. Yet, in just two words, it provides vital instructions for living a victorious life, especially when facing unanswered prayers. Our unanswered prayers may be about a frayed relationship, financial challenges, health concerns, or a variety of other struggles. Whether we have been lifting up the petition for days, months or even years, unanswered prayers may cause us to become weary in heart and in spirit.

However, through remaining committed to pray continually, we find encouragement. It brings peace within our unresolved situation, because it helps us keep our eyes on Him in a mindset of unwavering trust. And most importantly, it keeps us connected with the One for whom nothing is impossible.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your encouragement in your Word for us to pray continually. Help us remember and celebrate Your goodness and love for us even during seasons of waiting. In the Strong Name of Jesus. Amen
