I am probably not the only one who sometimes feels unsettled because of difficult personal circumstances and/or world events. I become shaken far more often than I want to admit by such occurrences as unbudgeted expenses, dealing with a conflict within my inner circle, or when watching a news account on wars, crimes, or the hostile ways with which those with opposing views respond to each other.
The more I dwell on such matters, the more I can become overwhelmed by negative and anxious thoughts. However, today’s text is a reminder that none of us needs to be enslaved by fear when faced with troubling situations. In fact, we can become unshakable when, instead of choosing to focus on our concerns, we decide to give them to the LORD. When releasing them to the One of whom nothing is impossible, we can find rest because He assures us He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for always being the resolution for whatever is causing us concern. Help us to remember You provide us rest when we release all of our cares to You. In the Strong Name of Jesus, Amen
