| Philippians 4:6 – “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. “ |
Wow, this is hard to do in today’s world which often seems so troubled. We are to tell God our needs and thank Him for all He has done. We are instructed to cast all our anxiety upon Him with a heart of thanksgiving and an attitude of worship because He cares for us. When we recognize God’s sovereign hand in our daily problems and life’s uncertainties, the more our anxious thoughts will melt away. When we worry, we focus on the circumstances of life, but in prayer, we focus on our heavenly Father. In worry, we talk to ourselves. In prayer, we talk to God.
It is by faith that we were saved, and it must be by faith that we live. It is by faith that every anxious thought is banished from our heart, and when faith in our heavenly Father is translated into prayers and with thanksgiving, our requests will be made in quietness and in confidence that He will hear and answer.
There is nothing too great and nothing too small that cannot be given to God, and there is no area in our life or the lives of others, about which we cannot come to Him. There is no anxiety so disturbing that cannot be guarded by the perfect peace of God and no pain so deep that cannot be healed by His tender touch.
Dear Lord, thank You that you know everything about us. Thank You that You hold today in Your hand and our future is secure in You. Thank You that we can cast all my cares upon You. AMEN.
