We Are Not Strangers to God – Psalms 139:1-2

We Are Not Strangers to God

Psalms 139:1-2 – “Lord, you tested me. You know all about me. You know when I sit down and when I get up.”

To be seen, heard, and known are what marketing moguls are all about. Car commercials show a sunglass clad sophisticated driver zipping around a curve, complete with glowing hair billowing in the wind. Or what about the commercial where folks are lounging on the neighbor’s clean and crisp new patio furniture against the backdrop of a setting sun? Consumerism certainly has its place in our daily lives, but it does not make us who we are.

Scripture reminds us in Genesis 1:27 that God created us in his image. We do not need things to make God know us or to make an impression on him. Psalm 139:15 says God knew us before he formed us in our mother’s womb. God sees us, hears us, and knows us. We belong to him, and we are loved.
