| Psalm 37:4 – “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” |
Have you ever wondered if it’s okay to ask God for more? Do you feel like it comes across that we are not thankful for all He has already done for us? Remember when God busted David for taking Bathsheba, He told David, I protected you from your enemies, I gave you Sauls house, I gave you charge of his wives, I made you King over Israel and Judah, and if that wasn’t enough, “I would have given you more!”
The more we know God’s Word, the more we know the privileges of being His child! The Bible is full of promises, and they bless us! Scripture tells us that if we ask and do not receive, it is because we ask with wrong motives. Otherwise, whatever we ask in prayer, we will receive. We must ask believing that God will hold true to His Word. If you believe, but struggle with a little unbelief, remember the words of the man begging for Jesus to heal his child. Jesus said, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’ Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief!” Jesus healed the child!
We can take comfort in knowing that God gives us the desire of our heart when we are genuinely seeking Him.
