| James 5:13 – “Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.” |
We are keeping our grandchildren for a few days. Sometimes interesting things happen when you spend time together. We are keeping them at their own house, but yesterday we took them to our house for lunch. We had to go back to their house for nap time, and as we began to go out to the car, the rain began coming down. I went first, got the umbrella and came back for Milo. After escorting him to the garage (detached from the house) I went back for my wife and Sage. They went together under the umbrella, and I followed with no protection. I began “I’m singin’ in the rain”. Sometimes I act like a kid. They looked at me strange as my wife joined in the song. Sage and Milo love to sing, so we played them the video of Gene Kelly dancing and singin’ in the rain. It rained several more times since, and we would break into song each time. I felt like we were in “The Sound Of Music”. It is funny how contagious joy is. The Bible says if anyone is happy, let him sing. That is what Gene Kelly did. Rain is a blessing in June in Texas, unless it is in a severe storm. Father in heaven, thank You for rain and grandchildren, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
