| 1 Corinthians 1:10 – “Brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, I beg all of you to agree with each other. You should not be divided into different groups. Be completely joined together again with the same kind of thinking and the same purpose.” |
We live in times of conflict and division. The words in our text sound counter cultural. In the name of being fiercely independent, we often find ourselves alienated from one another and divided into narrow groups. How is it possible to respond to this teaching with integrity?
All true unity is grounded in compassion. When we care enough about one another, we see beyond our differences and begin to find common ground. Nothing tears down walls like love in action. When our goals and purpose for living are others oriented, we discover the power of living life together.
