I woke up this morning singing ‘Evidence’ by Josh Baldwin. “I see the evidence of your goodness all over my life” stood out to me. Matthew 7:7 says, Seek and you will find. And guess what, it’s true! I look for things to be wrong, so I find things that are wrong. I look for things to worry about, and I absolutely find them. What I have been overlooking is God’s hand over my life. If you want to find better, seek better. I asked the Lord if I needed to look at people & situations through a different lens? Today, true to form, He faithfully answered. Have I stopped to think about where His hand has opened up for me? And thanked Him? The Israelites physically saw God’s hand and provisions over them and got so used to it that they complained and took it for granted. I’ll tell you, that’s me. Recently I was asked why I bought the home I did, my immediate thought was well it was all I could afford. And I gripe about all it’s imperfections and I desire more. At the time though, I was so proud, thinking… look at what I accomplished on MY own. But the truth is, this home was not all I could afford-in fact it was way more- I was only making $15 per hour when I got this house. God made the way. This safe shelter I call home was and still IS a direct result of God’s hand over my life. All that I have and all that I get to do is a result of His hand. I read this in my devotional this morning and it was in perfect timing: Whatever has hurt you, whatever has caused you hardship, God sees it and His hand is over it. At just the right time, he will make this mountain move. At just the right time, he will change hearts. At just the right time, he will open the right doors. At just the right time, you will see proof of God’s detailed good plans for you personally, and you will be promoted right into them.
I John 5:14-15 “And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him.” Psalms 9:1 “I will give thanks to You, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.” Romans 8:28 NIV “And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into His plans.”
