Psalms 34:4,5 – “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.” |
Wow! Talk about feeling pressed and stressed on every side?!?! After David was anointed to be the next king of Israel, he was constantly on the run from King Saul.
Saul was greatly threatened by David when he knew his kingship was drawing to a close. David wrote this Psalm when he was trying to escape from Saul for trying to kill him. I would encourage you to take some time today to read this Psalm in its entirety, seeing how the Lord delivers us!
… “I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears.”
… “The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them.
… “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!”
… “The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and His ears toward their cry.”
… “When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.”
… “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
… “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.”
… “The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in Him will be con- demned.”
In the midst of all the stresses of our lives, may we find our refuge in the Lord.
