Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” |
As I child, I struggled with obesity. I often cringed when the gym teacher instructed us to run one mile around the school yard for PE class. I would pray and ask God for strength to at least finish the race, even if I had to just walk the mile. I had hope that God would not let me fail. Even though I would be the last student to finish, I was able to complete the one-mile assignment. Today’s scripture reminds us there is no obstacle or assignment too hard for us to finish when we place our hope in Him. God will give us the strength we need in our weakest moments. We may not be able to run all the time, but He will always give us the strength we need to walk and not quit. Let us keep our hope in Jesus so that we have the strength to finish the race.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for today’s scripture. Thank you for reminding us that you are our strength. We cannot do anything without You. When we fall or feel like quitting, You give us the strength to get back up again. Thank You for constantly being our strength. Please continue to help us as we lean completely on You each day. In Jesus Name, Amen
