Psalms 16:8 – “I keep the Lord before me always. And I will never leave His right side.” |
Sometimes we build our ladders with good intentions only to find it was not what we expected at the top. Sometimes we build our ladders on walls that society places value on and we think we must follow. We either sit at the top, unhappy, or we begrudgingly make our way back down the ladder so we can start anew. Most of us dislike moving backwards. It makes us feel like failures because even though someone is at the top, but unhappy, we often times regard them as more successful.
Healing sometimes feels like you’re going backwards in life, maybe even temporarily in a darker place. Keep your hope in God. There is a light shining on the other side! With every mountain is a valley, with progress there are setbacks. We have to give ourselves grace when we find ourselves moving backwards or when we’re further back than we want to be.
It’s in our challenges and our struggles that we grow. With the Lord on our side, we can be grateful for our struggles, because those are the times when our faith is being tested, stretched and strengthened. We can be assured that as we follow the Lord, He works every struggle to the good.
