Nehemiah 8:10 – “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” |
If things are difficult for you- take a visit down memory lane with Kimberly:
Over the past few months it seems our entire world has been turned upside down. Many of the things that make us happy have been taken away from us – time with friends and family, attending church, going to a ballgame, going to school. As healthcare workers, our jobs have become more difficult. More exhausting. We are discouraged. We are tired. We are fearful – for our patients and their families, for ourselves and our own families. There seems to be very little to be happy about these days…
But happiness is temporary. Joy comes from God; from deep inside of us. Sometimes we have to make a choice to rejoice. We have to remember that God is Sovereign. He is working for our good. He loves us.
When things are tough, sometimes I sing that little song from Psalm 118:24 – “This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made. I WILL (emphasis mine) rejoice. I WILL rejoice and be glad in it. This is the day that the Lord has made. I WILL rejoice and be glad in it. This is the day. This is the day that the Lord has made.” Believe it or not, after a few times through, things do get better! I am strengthened and encouraged! Try it and see what God can do for you!

Father God, You are an awesome God! You know the beginning from the end! Remind us, Father, that You are working for our good, and that You are for us, and not against us. Help us to make the choice to rejoice in You, and help us to see the strength that wells up inside of us as a result. We praise You in the midst of our circumstances! We thank You for all these things in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.
