Distractions – Romans 8:31

Distractions
Stop getting distracted.
Romans 8:31 – “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Each morning, I get up with a sense of hope because I know my Lord Jesus Christ is still here with me. Then, I make the mistake of getting distracted and open my ears to the breaking news stories of the day. It’s like living in a nightmare and I can’t fully wake up. Each day gets worse and worse. Is there any good news?

Then, the Holy Spirit reminded me that there is good news, and we need to share it with others. Jesus is the good news and our only hope to survive this fallen world. When I read today’s scripture, it gave me reassurance. God is for us, no matter what is going on. He is for us! Do you know what that means? We will win! We are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ because he has overcome the world (John 16:33).

Our response to the negative reports is God is for us, who can be against us. In this world, we will have trouble, but we can have peace in knowing that God will always be for us.

Prayer: Thank you, dear Lord, for protecting us from dangers seen and unseen. We know that it is only because of your grace that we are not consumed. Every morning when we wake up and when we lie down at night, we know it is only because of your grace and mercy. Please continue to walk with us Lord and remind us that you have already overcome the world. We thank you dear Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
