| 1 Corinthians 3:6 – “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” |
Many of us are connected to people whom we desire will make changes in their lives. This can include a friend who continually goes from one disastrous relationship to another, or it could be a neighbor who financially struggles either because of gambling or impulsive shopping. It may also be a family member whose lifestyle choices put them at risk for major health complications.
There are a variety of ways we can help such individuals to make changes. This may include taking time to listen to concerns, directing them to resources, and applauding efforts for bringing about change.
While our actions can be impactful, today’s text reminds us of where the greatest source for bringing change is found. We need to remember it is the LORD who can make all things grow. Thus, a vital part of helping others to change is praying for and/or with them on a consistent basis. It also involves encouraging them to develop or deepen their relationship with the LORD.
Dear Heavenly Father, help us to remember to always seek you first when desiring change in our own or others’ lives. Thank You for remaining the steadfast source for helping all things grow. In The Strong Name of Jesus, Amen.
