Operation Roaring Lion – 1 Peter 3:4

Operation Roaring Lion

1 Peter 3:4 –  ” A meek and quiet spirit is great in the sight of God.”

In “Operation Roaring Lion” the Israelites are battling a very evil and tyrannical regime. So I looked up about why lions roar, and in my studies lions roar for a variety of reasons. But the one attribute that stands out to me is they do it, mostly the males, to relieve stress. Because they have a hierarchy, the ones at the top have to do all the protecting, the warning, and always on the look out for predators, especially when they have young ones.

Unfortunately, I had been known to have a terrible temper, and sometimes when I “relieved stress” by my”roaring” my husband said I am taking my problems out on everybody. Regardless, that did not help anyone. If I had made anybody feel “threatened’ in any way, including taking away the peace for which my Lord died, that is not constructive-I was being selfish and in that event was not mindful of what I was saying, or by which tone I was using, and how that  appeared to the listener(s). Far be it to be careful of my words.

“Life and death are in the power of the tongue” The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21. I as well had to be careful of the tone I used when speaking.

I could say “I love you” and do it in a tone that sounds more like “take a hike.”

Now if a lion has the wisdom when to roar, and how to roar, I have no doubt my loving Father gave me the same. So now, if I cannot do it “In the Name” of Christ like we are taught to do all things-In love-closing my mouth is the smartest, wisest thing to do.”Even a fool who holds his tongue is considered wise.” Proverbs 17:28. Being still and quiet-shows meekness when I want to “rant and rave.” It has better results as well.Nothing wrong with being protective-of our listeners .Yet letting His Spirit lead me, is wise in all things.

” A meek and quiet spirit is great in the sight of God.”-1 Peter 3:4. That scripture says great. That is worth it all right there.
