I started my day under a cloud of worry because of a burgeoning to do list and looming project deadlines. My efforts for planning how to navigate through the tight timeline to meet the day’s demands led only to frustration and increasingly anxious thoughts.
Finally recognizing how fruitless my efforts were, I paused and started praying. His answer did not come in the form of identifying divine strategies for meeting the day’s demands. Instead, it was the reminder that “My times are in your hands.” I begin appreciating the simple fact that it was not my commitments or what was on my calendar that was dictating day’s trajectory. Instead, the LORD, in His infinite wisdom and goodness, determines how it all will unfold. And the more I trust Him, I increasingly see His hand guiding me through even the most challenging of days.
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the timeless and precious gifts of your love, grace and guidance. Help us always remember when feeling assailed by fear, dread, or frustration our times are in Your hand. In the Strong Name of Jesus, Amen.
