Jeremiah 31:25 – “I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”

Have you ever been so tired that you did not think you could take another step? So exhausted that you could not go on? A few years ago, I found myself needing to move from one apartment to another in the middle of the summer. I was trying to save money by moving most of the small things myself. Trip after trip, box after box, I pushed myself to try to accomplish as much as possible before the movers came for the furniture and big items. That evening I packed my swollen knees in ice and prayed for endurance. I just didn’t know how I was going to do everything myself. Shortly before I went to bed, I got a call from a friend at church who offered to come over and help me. The next day she brought a flatbed trailer and about 10 helpers. I’m not quite sure how she knew I needed help, but it was so appreciated! They insisted that I remain seated at my old apartment and then had me sit at the new place as well. My friends made short work of what would have taken me hours.

How much more does God want to help us during our difficult days – whether physically, mentally, or emotionally. Rest in him – let him be the one to restore your weary body or mind.

Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for the refreshment you give to my weary soul. Life is hard and I am often faced with situations too difficult to handle alone. Thank you that you can provide answers, even before I ask. Amen
