This Scripture makes me think of allowance money for doing our chores. When we were growing up, we got allowance money based on our grades. The better our grades, the more we made. Some kids get allowance based on how much they help around the house. The more they help, the more they get! In a way God is very much like that. He rewards us for all the good things we do. He says that when we nourish others, we will be like a watered garden. He is such a generous God! He rewards us for obeying him. He literally has a reward for every single good thing we do over our entire lifetime. That is so cool!

One meaning behind the word rich, is ‘fat’. It is a figure of speech for wealthy or full! The generous soul will be fat, full of bountiful blessings! The point here is that He wants us to be big-hearted with others, as well. God wants us to be generous, AND He repays us for our generosity. God wants us to nourish others, and when we do, He nourishes us even more!
Contemplate today what you might do to be a refreshing drink of water for someone, and you can look forward to reaping the benefits!
