| John 13:35 – “By this all people wil. know that you are. my disciples, if yu have love for one another.” |
Most recognize the “sports car roar”. It’s the throaty pounding sound that proclaims power and speed.
One of the leaders in the field is the Italian company Ferrari. It’s roar is its trademark.
But something has changed.
Ferrari entered the electric vehicle (EV) market. They now make a car that has the silence of an electric motor.
Ferrari refuses to put in the “artificial sound” of a high-power engine. Rather, it will amplify a tone in the cabin called “electric engine”.
Some have asked the question, “What is a Ferrari without the sound of a Ferrari?”
Something happens when you lose what identifies you. You get lost in the crowd of all the others.
That’s what Jesus knew. He surveyed the world for philosophies and practices only to find many off them with the same sterile sameness. Rules, regulations, and aphorisms filled their pagges.
But he said it would. not be true of his disciples. THey have a defining characteristic.
“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)
Without a commitment to the good of one another, the church sinks into religious obscurity. But when people see how much they love one another, it becomes a magnet.
Don’t neglect to care deeply about each other. For without it, it becomes a silent Ferrari.
