Do you ever become weary of the bombardment of AI? In these times it’s very difficult to turn on a TV or open your smartphone or laptop where you do not encounter some type of writing on artificial intelligence. It’s more than concerning how this global issue has taken hold and shaken humanity like a rag doll.
What does the human role look like in the AI of tomorrow? Will we merely become robots living according to how we are programmed by some data input? To be sure, there are exciting discoveries on the horizon that will advance medical science and other aspects of daily life, but as humans we must not buy into what I call the sly lie that humans are invincible, soulless and we answer to no one.
We are created in God’s image which means we can think and process stimuli in our environment and more. We have the ability to love and forgive others around us. Artificial intelligence, by its very nature, often leaves God our creator out of the picture.
Every individual ever born has their own set of unique handprints. From the protective covering of our skin to the fantastic, orchestrated performance of our heart and lungs working complimentary of each other, to the ability to forgive and be forgiven, we are so marvelously created. Like the psalmist, we are to praise God as the creator and author of life.
