If you are needing encouragement, look in the book of Psalms! I remember when my children were small and my husband was in the hospital. The Doctors told me not to get my hopes up because he would probably never leave. I felt like the Lord was holding a thread from heaven and I was literally hanging from it. I kept asking Him to NOT DROP ME. That week, Jeff asked me to read him the book of Psalms. He and I found much comfort in those Words. You know that it is called the living Bible because it brings an ever-present comfort to all who read it yesterday, today and tomorrow. We are gifted with peace when we know God. We rest in the promise that there is nothing that will happen to us without His consent, and whatever He does allow, He works all things for good to those of us who love Him.
No matter what sort of trouble we find ourselves in, when we lean on the Lord, He gives us the strength to carry on.
Here are a few Scriptures from Psalm 34 to remind us of the joy in knowing the Lord. The Lord never lies, so you can bank on everything He says…
Vs 4-I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
5- Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.
6- This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.
7-The angel of the Lord encamps around all those who fear him, and delivers them.
8- Oh taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.
9—Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear Him have no lack!
