We live in times of high anxiety. What will the future bring? Will we be able to endure with so much conflict and the potential for widening wars? Will the political unrest give way to even more violence? Will the walls that divide us continue to grow?
It would be easy to lose our sense of hope and optimism if we only think of the potential for suffering. The good news is, we do not have to live under the clouds of fear and hopelessness. We have the wonderful promises of God to lighten our way and strengthen our hearts with hope. The matchless love of God flows through all of human history. In the dark days of Roman rule, God demonstrated his love by sending us His Son. The gift of God was to remind us all of his faithful, enduring, love and mercy.
His great mercy means there is hope for our broken lives and world. Each day dawns with a new opportunity to experience the presence and power of God. Let us lean into the love of God, and open our hearts to his mercy and grace. There is a certain and living hope for the future. The best is yet to come!
Thank you Lord, for the hope we have because of your great love and mercy. Thank you that each morning is an invitation to draw from the deep well of your presence. May this year be filled with hope because we are trusting in You! In Jesus Name. Amen
