Paul was in prison suffering for spreading the gospel and is writing to his dear son Timothy. Paul has every reason to complain, but instead writes to encourage Timothy to maintain his faith in Christ, just as Paul has maintained his faith in Christ. Christ is always faithful and rewards those who are faithful to Him with eternal life in heaven.
