An Open Book Test is the preferred test method for students. Sure, the test might be long, and the time might be short, but the ability to flip through the pages and secure the right answers circumvents test anxiety. It’s much better than the alternative!
Your life is an “open book test.”
God has provided a manual equipped with every answer. It isn’t a suggestive supplement to life. It’s a roadmap to heaven.
It’s called the Bible.
Scripture is physically or electronically accessible with numerous translations, languages, and styles. There’s never been a time in history when it’s easier to get your hands on God’s word than now.
It’s concerning when people say, “The Bible may not be right about that.” According to who? Maybe the student, but not the professor.
In addition to the marvelous grace of God, and our unsurpassed advocate Jesus Christ, “if you love me, you will keep my commandments” (John 14: 15) is an expectation for test day. And on the Day of Judgment, God won’t grade on a “curve,” because each of us will receive our own evaluation.
So, how are you preparing for the test? Is your Bible open?
The Psalmist avowed, “Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119: 105).
Peter declared to Jesus, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,” (John 6: 68, NIV) and he later proclaimed that we have everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him (2 Peter 1: 3), most undoubtedly found in Scripture.
But there’s one “catch” to an open book test: If you don’t have a solid grasp on the material before the test, frivolously flipping the pages during the test isn’t helpful.
But it’s extremely beneficial if you know the material because you know the author. Then, everything else falls into place.
Your life is an open book test.
Test day is coming.
