Romans 12:1-2 – ‘I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.’ |
Ahhh…, the mercies of God! They’re all about His love and forgiveness! I am so thankful for it!
Jesus died once for all, and we no longer sacrifice animals for every sin! But… what kind of sacrifices are we expected to offer that is our spiritual service of worship? We offer our bodies as instruments of righteousness! Honoring God internally with our thoughts and heart and externally with our words and deeds! We have a faithful, obedient heart that displays Jesus to the world and a repentant heart when we fail.
To keep us from falling into the trap of accepting the faulty ways of this world, or from feeling anxious, frustrated, stressed or troubled, we continually refresh and renew our mind by staying focused on the Word of God. God fills us with the peace and comfort of His Holy Spirit when we spend time with Him in the Bible and stay focused on honoring Him. God is seeking worshippers that will follow Him wholeheartedly! Are you that type of worshipper?
Dear Grace Giving God, we thank you for this day. As we receive the mercies of a new day, today, we ask that we would be a blessing to others. May our lives be an ongoing spiritual service of worship. Amen.
