We are saved by grace. It is a gift. No one can earn it. God calls us to live holy lives. Living holy can lead us to feel like we are working our way to heaven. Not so. Paul pounds this topic. We are dead to sin and must kiss it goodbye, like a dead corpse. Our holy living is like looking in a clean mirror. The image is sharp and true. We reflect God to others. Our right living simply makes us better reflectors of God’s image. We are not earning anything. We are serving the one who saved us. To be useful to our creator? Ah, that is fulfillment. Father in heaven, help us to show You to all around us, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
